Police Call Box's
Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police
POLICE CALL BOX'S carry as much historical importance as a Policeman's badge. However some people don't see it this way. Rather then turn them over to Police Museums or Policeman who may be collectors they turned them over to the public. I think D.C. would have contributed better to their history by offering them to Police Museums or Officers who are collectors of Police History. They could have even put the offer out at the museums / collectors expense. It is just disheartning to see Police history turn this way

Outside the entrance to the Chiefs office are sits this MPDC Call Box
This was on Ebay but I don't think it sold, it is probably the nicest call box I have seen restored. As wonderful as the old black and white photos are they do not show the truly wonderful display these old call box's gave the city. By far the most beautiful pieces of art on the streets of D.C. To bring them back to their original look would have been awesome.
